Lamac's history is fascinating. Some of you may have already known especially the Lamacanons but to the benefit of other people, allow me to give you a nice and brief flashback about this place. Lamac is a very remote barangay southwest of Cebu. It is about 14km from Poblacion, Pinamungajan and 8km from Lutopan, Toledo. Fifty years ago, there weren't too many people living in this town. Most of them were farmers who didn't have proper education but were very hardworking and contented of their simple lives. In 1973, a farmer's organization was formed and was named "Samahang Nayon"; this was through a Government program that aimed for community development for small towns. The 70 members then contributed funds to help start a small business in their area. They were able to establish a tiny grocery store which they called themselves a "Consumer". Their small business slowly grew also by the help of their local professionals. They won lots of awards and made Lamac a very well-known town.
To make the story short, the "Samahang Nayon" before is now the Lamac Multi Purpose Cooperative (LMPC) with 14 operating branches accross the Province of Cebu.
The only downfall of Lamac is the quest of finding it. Even google maps couldn't locate this little place; that just means it's one of the very small towns that we call "In the middle of nowhere". But despite of that, there are still a lot of people that have been to Lamac already. People have come here mostly because they have heard about the beautiful Hidden Valley Resort (HVR) that is owned by LMPC. Others are into spelunking, nature trekking or simply just relaxing. This is a perfect place for that! I think they all have various different experiences but one thing is for sure, their visit to this place is SPLENDID.
For those who want to take a peek or more than that of Lamac nature spirit, here’s how you can get to this place. From Cebu City, you can take either bus or van at the terminal. Get off at Lutopan township and hop on a motorcycle (habal2x) to Lamac which is about 25-30mins from Lutopan. You can never miss Lamac because motorcycle drivers are pretty much familiar of this place.
Depending on what you feel like doing, you can go to the falls (Sinungkulan & Udlom) and experience the refreshing spring water. If you are an adventurous type of person, you can go spelunking and be amazed of the beautiful stalagmites & stalactites. You can end your day with another swim at HVR pools and stay overnight at the resort. What an excellent way to spend your vacation on this peaceful place!Check the "Photos" to see lots of amazing views of Lamac. To learn more about the resort or the cooperative of Lamac, you can visit their website Lamac Multi Purpose Cooperative.

I am a native Lamacanon, and very proud to be one. This website is also dedicated to my late dear grandma NARCISA P. DE GRACIA that if not because of her, our small town Lamac wouldn’t be like what it is now. So long, Lola Sisang.
